Like Michael Jackson: Would You Rather Skip The Relationship And Just Have Children?
The custody questions that have popped up surrounding Michael Jackson and his two children, Debbie Rowe, and Jackson's mother Katherine Jackson have really brought up some issues surrounding individuals who purposely choose to adopt or have a child via a surrogate or artificial insemination - without a partner.
Is it a good idea?
Will a legal document stating who you want your child(ren) going to in the case of your death stand up in court if the biological parent stands up. And there is always another biological parent. Case in point - Debbie Rowe. Clearly a woman who acted more like a surrogate than a wife or mom, judges who have been interviewed about the case feel that she would have a strong case simply because she is the biological mother of two of the three children.
Is it really smart to wait around for the "right" relationship when it may never come along before you have kids?
What are your feelings on purposefully becoming a single parent? Or really - does it make a difference?
Is your biological clock factor? Do you think you need to seriously consider having children without a partner because your biological clock is running out and you'd like to have a biological child?
